Life, the 40k universe and everything else...

So I believe that my crises are over finally and I can soon resume some semblance of what I call normality. I've landed a good job, have some great roommates and actually picked up a paint brush this weekend in forever. I'm starting slow though - preparing some character minis for an upcoming Rogue Trader game I intend on running.

I've skimmed over the 6th edition rules and will be picking up the rulebook soon enough. I've really tried avoiding all the rumors (not hard when you aren't actively blogging and chatting) so that my read will be untainted and without expectation. So far I'm liking what I see. I'm eagerly pushing forward in order to read the flyer and allies rules.

I did continue painting the Caesta Rosa Sisters, but lack of adequate painting space crippled me somewhat. I believe I'm going to put them on hold and start my overhaul of the Emporer's Children since I have heard a rumor that Chaos Marines will be one of the first 6th ed codices. I've got a tiny space next to my computer but working on it. Once I can get things out of storage I'll be able to set up a little more properly. It's just hard to look at all the damage and not get choked up.

Back in March my storage unit was broken into. They were hunting jewelry and went through a lot of boxes and bags. They damaged furniture and turned over things. They toppled over my shop light and there is broken glass, scattered dice and jewelry findings/beads everywhere. They dug through my Orks box and damaged some of them. It was very disheartening. I'm very happy the Eldar and Bugs were here with me. If anything had happened to them I'd have been devastated.

I've pondered lately changing up my blog format and/or theme. I have found myself refraining from posting 'real life' things here in the interim as I felt they weren't related to what my followers might be interested in. I may consider a 3rd blog instead, I'm not sure just yet. Imagine that, the Farseer is unsure. We will see though.

Genestealer overkill

I now have enough models to make this happen. The internet is rife with taking something that works and spamming it so I figured a way to get a maximum amount of Genestealers into one 2000 point army. I don't know if this has been done, but once they are all painted I'm SO going to run this. And watch my enemy tremble.

Are you ready?

Craftworlderly News

I thought the world had ended last weekend. My computer crashed, I've missed two weeks of gaming and just life in general has been a challenge. Things are looking up though, I may be getting a lateral shift that gets me off the phones (which stresses me to no end), I've gotten my computer back up and running without losing any data (or photos. the photos! AAGH!) and I've rearranged my workspace. The painting area is a little more cramped than I'd like so I'll work on that, but things are arranged better now. All of which I'm thankful for.

See what I did there?

Happy Thanksgiving.

Sisters project - ongoing

After a brief (ish) break to finish up my MERCS figures, I'm recharged enough to tackle my Sisters again. I'm not sure if I covered it before, but I painted one of my Flagellants and have begun on a Repentia as test models. I really am happy with the Priest and how fast he went. The Repentia went on the back burner when I picked up the MERCS. I've also been working on Celestine as well. Photos of those will come in time, I really am not a fan of WIP photos, at least not on the blog, though I have taken some.

MERCS - FINI!

I have completed my MERCS team (to the best of my ability). There's a LOT of detail on these models and I kept going back and fiddling with them. My loving camera kept pointing out little spots, nooks and crannies that I missed and taunting me. I have gone and touched up these spots, but not taken new photos. Those will be along eventually I'm sure.

The one figure that's missing is my Kemvar Assassin. He's still missing his left arm (I can't locate it at the moment) so I didn't paint him with the gang. I am doing so now because I have a fabulous idea for him (due to his Active Camoflage) and perhaps it will look okay when I'm done. I'll make that another post.

Game Review - MERCS

Been working a bit lately on my MERCs figures to take a break from the Sister's project and also as test models for mudding up my figures. I plan on the Sisters to have a weathered, dirty look, and the same look is ideal for the MERCs game environement. I'm going to be using more of a dusty, rubble strewn theme for the MERCs though, since it's largely city fighting. The Sisters will have more mud and universal basing.

What's MERCs? So glad you asked!

The Farseer is still alive..

Imperial vid-pic of a Chaplain shortly before he was pulped.
 I'm still here.

There's been a lot of things going on and without going into it, I just haven't had time or motivation to blog lately. I'll get better.

Doesn't mean I haven't been at play. I've still found time to get a few games in here and there. Lately my orks. I'll try and get a battle report up soonish.

The Sisters project is ongoing, and though not as fast as I'd like, it's getting done. Hopefully will have some photos of the girls soon.
