New Year's Resolutions.

I've spent some time poking around other peoples blogs trying to see what makes one successful. I've seen a lot of things and while I got some good ideas, I decided that a successful blog would be the one that I'm happiest with. I am no expert tactician, so I can't be expected to help there. I'm more into 'fluffy' armies, so God help you if you come to me helping with a list. I've been made fun of for some of the armies I've made, but it doesn't bother me. I know they are mine and I have fun with them and that's what it's about to me. I'm no expert at painting either. I know what I know and it gets me by. Sometimes someone says "Wow!" and that's good enough to make me a giddy girl. I do occasionally learn something new though. This old girl isn't above learning new tricks.

That's not to say I don't want to help people. I LOVE helping and educating. Nothing makes me happier than to bring someone into the hobby. I do love people asking me for help or advice. If I know it I'll pass it on, if I don't I won't BS them. I'll find it or find someone who can help them. And above all, I won't act like they are beneath me. I've also tried really hard to stay positive on here. It's really easy to be negative and spread discontent. I don't want to fall into that trap.

I have digressed...

So my resolution (at least with the blog) is to produce more. I've been slack of late, and I know it happens to everyone. When I started this blog nearly 6 months ago I worried I wouldn't have enough content to fill it with. While I have hit a couple of dry spells here and there I feel like I've done pretty well. I am going to make a serious effort to post more content, more quality content, and hopefully a bit better photos (still struggling to find that elusive better camera).

I have plans still, so there should be plenty on the way. Still have a tournament in Jan I'm prepping for. I'll begin painting my sisters soon after that (after she finds a color scheme to go with) there's still the chat project (Welcome Inquisitork) and others. Stay tuned!!

  1. It's a tad premature for New Year's resolution posts, but I think you hit he nail on the head. The most important thing to keep in mind is staying true to yourself. You started the blog for a reason, and you do have great things to contribute (I love the chat box idea). I expect great things from you in the future. :)

  4. You don't need to be an expert tactician or a Gold Daemon winner level painter to inspire people. The good thing about blogs is that everyone chips in with their unbiased opinion. There is a huge pool of ideas out there and the more you contribute to it the more you contribute in the community growing and becoming helpful to everyone. I've used people ideas that I've found on blogs countless times and this has really helped me with my gaming and painting. So keep up the good work :)

  7. Zensurfer, HurricaneGirl gave me some weapon sprues to pass along to you before she moved. They've been riding in my trunk for a while now, and they're looking for a new home! If you message me on athensgamersunite.com, or perhaps ask HurricaneGirl for my contact info, we can work out the logistics of how to get `em to you.

    Cheers,

    Noah
